Parents give of their time and resources to volunteer, mentor, and advocate for quality educational programs each day whether in their communities or in their child’s school with little credit or recognition.

PARENTS Empowered Awards is a new award to honor extraordinary parents making a difference in the lives of their children and making an impact in their child’s school. Parents across the state of Illinois deserve to be acknowledged for their commitment to education - school participation, community engagement and school betterment.

It has been shown that children do better in school when their parents are actively involved to help ensure their success. PARENTS –which represents Parents Advocating Rights in Education Now for The State – comprises a group of parents that are concerned and interested in expanding educational options for Illinois children to ensure each child has access to the best education possible regardless of their economical status or geographical location.
